We had a lesson with an amazing family of new members. They just love the way the gospel has changed their lives, and they kept drilling us on the most effective ways to share the gospel. They want the whole world to know. And they think that all Mormon children, including missionaries, have an innocent sort of glow. Apparently we look like little cherubs or something. That was kind of funny and awkward. But we love that family so much. The dad gave a short talk in stake conference, and it was probably the best.
So we got a text on our phone with a name and address. We went to visit this guy, and he was so confused. Apparently one of his friends went on mormon.org and had missionaries go to his house as a prank. But at least he was nice about it. Strange lesson though.
Saturday was one of those days where we just saw miracles. People were home, and they were interested. We finally got back in contact with someone who had practically disappeared off the face of the earth for a month. Good stuff.
It has been a good week. Transfers are coming up next week. Members keep asking us when transfers are. Not sure if they want to get rid of us or just don't want to be caught off guard. I guess we have both been here for a while.
A funny thing: we were teaching a lesson, and the 2 year old girl was laying flat on her back on the floor, making strange grunting/vomiting noises. My companion asked what she was doing. Her 8 year old brother said "She's exercising." We laughed so hard.
Well, things are good here. We learn little by little. The title is taken from the motto of one of the elders in my district. I would say it is pretty accurate. I am beginning to see what a great blessing it is to be a missionary. I have always loved it, but I feel like I am seeing things more broadly recently.
Anyway, have a great week!
Love,
Hermana Pace
