We are completely moved in, and we just inherited a new trash can, so soon our apartment won't smell bad! We also helped the elders clean their apartments, because they helped us with ours. So that was a nice little Saturday adventure.
We went to Salvation Army as usual, and there was a school trip or something, so the place was filled with 6th graders. They kept us entertained. But I don't think that blowing into your gloves to make balloons, then serving food is the most sanitary procedure. You get what you pay for, I guess.
It is becoming summer, mixed in with storms. Too many mosquitoes already. Saturday night we were awake for a few hours in the middle of the night because of a storm.
We knock on a door and taught a nice guy. A few days later, we went back to teach him. He was complaining about the demons in his house. Unfortunately, we are not taught what to do to get rid of demons. So Hermana Hartley told me to say a prayer, so I did. I don't think it did much though. Saying a prayer isn't the same as straight up casting them out. We will go back this week and see how things are going.
Right after that lesson, we rounded the corner and saw our car being towed out of the parking lot. We yelled at the guy to stop, so he backed up and undid the hitch thing. Then he asked us why we didn't have a visitors pass, and why we had a strange black box in our car. He didn't give us time to explain, he just told us to get a pass next time. There were a bunch of other cars around without passes, but he had targeted our because of the "tiwi", the black box that yells at us if we go too far over the speed limit. We were pretty shocked and annoyed.
We went to the temple with our recent convert! She was baptized as a proxy for her mom, who passed away about 13 years ago. It was really special for her. We were so glad to be a part of it. We almost couldn't find a rid back home, but at the last minute, we did. So that was good too.
Some guy requested a Book of Mormon online, so we stopped by to give it to him. He talked a lot, and we didn't even have time to teach him anything. But we decided to go back two days later. It was awesome. He had already started reading, and he completely understood the whole "medite on the message, then pray about it" thing. He is already convinced that it is true, but he looks forward to continuing and learning more. the only problem we might have is that when it rains during the week he had to make up his time on Sundays. He should be able to make it to church soon though. We were so impressed by his level of understanding and enthusiasm.
A piece of news. Next week, we have a special meeting to prepare us to get iPads! We also may or may not be running a 5K that day as well. It should be pretty exciting.
I think that's about it. Things are going well here. Halfway!!!!! I will probably mention that more in detail next Monday.
Love you!
Hermana Pace
Also, I finally used the word "y'all" in conversation. It only gets worse from here.
