But a bit about the beginning of the week. On Tuesday, we went on exchanges and I was on a bike for the day. I was not warned beforehand that the brakes on the bike I would be using didn't work all that well. It just got worse as we rode. You know those road block things that are taller than me and are white and orange and reflective and look like a fence? Well, I totally ran into one of those because I couldn't stop. Luckily, it absorbed all of my momentum so I didn't even fall!
We had some good lessons. Talked with some crazy people. Invited everyone to conference and only some came. But I think those that liked it came.
Man, conference. That was good. Eight hours of inspiration. I would recommend watching all of it. One that was especially good was that Devin Durrant spoke. He was the mission president here a few months before I came. We still hear about him a lot and use the stuff he talked about, like Ponderizing scriptures. President Uchtdorf's talk was also pretty great. Basically, discipleship shouldn't be something complex. It should be simple, rewarding, and worthwhile. If that is not your experience, it is time to reevaluate some things.
Well, I love you guys. As the cashier at the bookstore said today, "Have a great journey!"
Love,
Hermana Pace
